Welcome...

So, here it is. The first entry in my travel blog. After a crazy day of trying to get everything in order we are at the airport. I'm drinking a Brooklyn Brown Ale and waiting to board the plane.

I hope to update this blog every day and talk about what I've seen and done.

To give you a little background...This trip is an 18-day, 3 city tour--London, Paris and Barcelona. Your "tour guides" are myself, Gus, and Gus' mom, Mabel.

I can't believe this day has finally arrived. I've been planning for so long and waiting, and waiting, and waiting... And even though I'm so glad to be taking time off and away from work, I know that there are people I will miss, that make me laugh, and remind me every day why I get up in the morning to go to work (besides paying rent). Yes, you know who you are.

It's been raining today, but right now our plane is still scheduled to leave on time. I think I'll probably sleep most of the trip. But I do have 2 movies to watch-- "Is It Fall Yet?" the Daria movie and "Team America". And I'm reading Mortals by Norman Rush.
