The flight from Newark to London was pretty uneventful. I slept through most of it actually. Woke up enough to play some sudoku and freecell on the Continental tv.

Surprisingly we got a blanket, pillow, and two meals for free during the flight. Thank you Continental for not charging for that...yet.

Oh, while we were waiting to go through security in Newark, the guy in front of me was really jittery--maybe his flight was leaving soon. But he kept feeling up his pecs. He was like a woman who'd just had a boob job and couldn't believe her new rack. Gus and I had
a brief experience of the Giggle Loop.

So once we arrived at Heathrow we went through Passport
control, got our bags (that's us at baggage pick up) at which point I took us the wrong way to find the underground (that's a subway to you Yanks).

We got to apartment around 12:30 and had to kill a couple of hours before we could check in. So we went to the high street. I was starving cause I'd mistaken the breakfast croissant for some kind of omelet in my sleep haze on the plane and let Gus eat it. We had plenty of options--Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut...but we decided to go for something more traditional, a pub.
This place is just around the corner from our flat. We ordered a couple of pints and I had a burger (it came with bbq sauce without my having to ask for it--nice).

Finally got into the apartment. It's cute. (Photos later), but up 5 flights of stairs--no elevator. At least I won't feel so bad about all the crap (and there's a lot of it) I'm planning on eating. We all passed out for a few hours then we took a walk around the neighborhood and went to the grocery for some supplies. One of the cashiers had so much attitude--rolling her eyes and everything. I mean I know it's late and your stuck scanning bottles of water and ready-made sandwiches and the guy wanted cigarettes but didn't know if he wanted a 10-pack or a 20-pack, but damn.

I got a Cinnabon for dinner, since I didn't get to have it at the airport. And now we're gonna hit the hay.

Right now, the plan for tomorrow is Camden Markets and maybe the Tate Modern.
